Serving Wakefield, MA
From its high-quality interior and sharp exterior style to its engaging performance, the 2023 Mazda CX-5 is a compact crossover that aims to please its drivers on all levels. The Honda CR-V has long been a leading contender for compact crossover SUV shoppers to consider. How do the 2023 Mazda CX-5 and the 2023 Honda CR-V compare in critical areas?
Performance
Two well-designed engines are available across the Mazda CX-5's eight trim options. The base engine found in most trims is a four-cylinder, 2.5-liter system that puts out 187 horsepower. The top two Mazda CX-5 trims benefit from a turbo four-cylinder system that produces 227 horsepower. All trims have standard all-wheel drive and six-speed auto transmission. There are also two engines offered for the 2023 CR-V. The base gas engine is a turbo 1.5-liter, four-cylinder system that generates 190 horsepower. It has standard front-wheel drive, but you can pay more for the all-wheel drive option. A hybrid four-cylinder system is also available. It offers 204 combined horsepower and has all-wheel drive.
Appearance
The Mazda CX-5 displays Mazda's exciting design language from end to end through its confident, athletic profile and tapered accents running down the hood. The sides are masterfully contoured, pairing with minor, lower-body definition and thin, black molding. The nose boasts a low-profile bumper, a wide grille, and triangular, LED-enhanced headlights. The Honda CR-V has a taller profile with less definition over the hood and sides. The thin bumper gradually eases into minor air inlets. The grille connects to slanted, short headlights with a top-mounted LED bar.
Features
All 2023 Mazda CX-5 trims have Mazda Connected Services, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 10.25-inch touch display screen, a push-button ignition, and numerous driver's assistive safety devices. Some Mazda CX-5 trims also come with a 360-degree camera, leather upholstery, a navigation system, parking sensors, ambient cabin lights, a heated steering wheel, a wireless charging pad, a Bose sound system, and many additional features. The CR-V for 2023 offers a different set of safety technologies in all trims. It also has base-level features like a four-speaker sound system, smart device app connections, a 7-inch touch display screen, and a push-button ignition.
